Title: Zoraida Grey and the Voodoo Queen

Author: Sorchia DuBois

Genre: Urban Fantasy, Paranormal, Fantasy Romance

Book Blurb:

Zoraida Grey needs help. With the witchy Logan clan holding her best friend hostage in a haunted Scottish castle, she can’t trust anyone—certainly not beguiling but dangerous Shea Logan. And Al, her overprotective boyfriend, doesn’t believe in magic. Only one creature strikes fear in the blackened hearts of the Logan witches. Trouble is Jock disappeared five centuries ago leaving a trail of destruction across the Gulf of Mexico. Now he’s stepped into a steaming pile of Voodoo. Can Zoraida drag wayward Jock back to Scotland? And what’s she supposed to do with two men who promise completely different futures?

A Scottish wizard, stripped naked and painted blue—a Voodoo priestess bent on immortality—a yacht-load of Caribbean pirates. What can possibly go wrong?

My Review:

Zoraida Grey's up to her neck in trouble and needs help, but who can she trust? The Logan clan has her best friend hostage. The only one who'll put the fear of gods and goddesses into the Logan witches is Jock but he's way down south, messing around with voodoo. Can she convince Jock to return to Scotland and help her or has she jumped from one impossible situation to the next? Then there's the love triangle Zoraida's got to deal with but which man will she choose?

Zoraida Grey and the Voodoo Queen is a rip-roaring paranormal adventure from start to finish. This book picks right up where book one left off. All the characters are back plus a few new ones. My favorite character not named Zoraida has got to be Jock. He's such a colorful character. He takes over every scene he's in and his personality is vibrant, which I loved. Like in the first book, the characters leap off the page and into your heart. The plot moves at a great pace and I found myself reading late into the night. Brilliantly written with plenty of paranormal fun, Zoraida Grey and the Voodoo Queen is even better than the first book. There are so many layers to the story, a reader will be riveted. The ending was a bit of a surprise as it was eerily similar to book one's ending. Another cliffhanger ending but hopefully all the loose ends will be tied up with the final book in the series. If you love a strong heroine with plenty of action and intrigue, pick up Zoraida Grey and the Voodoo Queen. Fans of Kelley Armstrong will love Zoraida Grey and the Voodoo Queen. Highly recommend!
