Things Better Settle Down Soon, ‘Cause I’m About to Go… Storm Crazy by @LiviaQuinn #bookreview #para

Title: Storm Crazy: A quirky paranormal romance (Destiny Paramortals Book 1)

Author: Livia Quinn

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Romantic Comedy

Book Blurb:

Storm Crazy is a quirky paranormal romance—a world of dragons, storm witches (tempestaeries), shifters, vampires and fae, protecting mankind while searching for their fated mates in the Paramortal urban fantasy world.

Welcome to Destiny, or should I say Middle Earth…

I'm Sheriff Jack Lang. After an exciting career as a Navy pilot, Destiny seemed like the perfect place to settle down - safe, sane and secure. But that ship sailed when I met Tempest Pomeroy - sexy redheaded mail lady and trouble magnet. Tempe never fails to test the limits of my patience or the law. Every time I think it's the last straw, up pops another haystack.

My name is Tempest Pomeroy, and my human job is delivering the mail. I’m also a Paramortal like my family, or I’m supposed to be. If I didn’t have a few little talents, I’d think I was adopted. To say I was having a bad day would be like saying Katrina dropped a little rain on New Orleans. My brother's genie bottle is missing, my mother’s AWOL, and the sheriff and my ex-lover are squaring off like yard dogs staking a claim over a poodle. I am no one’s poodle. I've denied my heritage for most of my life but all this chaos is a sign of my quickening Tempestaerie power.

Oh, and the sheriff? He thinks he's settled in a normal, quaint small town—like Mayberry?! We’ll see how that turns out… Things better settle down soon, ‘cause I’m about to go…Storm Crazy.

Here’s what fans of the Destiny Paramortals say after reading the whole series:

“This is my new favorite series!” “WOW…just wow!” “Ok, I’m hooked, Give me, give me, give me some more!!!

“Run don’t walk to the buy button. The Destiny Paramortals series is like a mini vacation away from the real world.”

“Tempest is one of the best paranormal romance heroines I’ve ever read. She’s funny, sarcastic, hard-working and has the power to wield storms with her fingertips.”

Books 1-6 follow the transformations of Tempest Pomeroy and Sheriff Jack Lang in their Paramortal arc and the growth of secondary characters like Montana and Conor, the black dragon.

The books should be read in order:

Storm Crazy, 1

Cry Me a River, 2

Eve of Chaos, book 3

Destiny Paramortals Boxset: 1-3

Blame it on the Moon, 4

Take These Broken, 5

Blood Moon , #6, coming April 2, 2018

My Review:

Tempest is one of the best paranormal romance heroines I’ve ever read. She’s funny, sarcastic, hard-working and has the power to wield storms with her fingertips. Trouble seems to follow her around like a dog with a bone and it was borderline hysterical watching her talk her way out of a murder. But more than that, she’s multi-layered. She loves her brother, will do anything to find him and she’s trying not to fall in love with the sheriff. She’s got enough trouble and the forecast says it’s going to rain men around Tempest.

I loved Tempest! She’s the perfect strong fantasy heroine who harnesses the power of the weather. Her one-liners made me laugh hard. She has inner insecurities that only made me love her more. Her inner dialogue really makes the book enjoyable.

This is a great book one to a series. I enjoyed the minor characters as much as I liked the major characters. There’s plenty of conflict and the paranormal aspect to the story was original.

Caution: Read the books in order

Storm Crazy is filled with conflict, humor, Southern charm and romance. I loved the chemistry between Tempest and Jack (sheriff). If you’re a fan of Paranormal Romance, this is a must-read!

Favorite Character/Quote: “Think of something else—River, on his first day as a Djnni, Phoebe on my ninth birthday, Dutch… I stifled a whimper. I would not lose it in front of this man. He’d already seen me in too many compromising situations today. It would be one embarrassment too many.” ~Tempest
