My Review:

Malcolm Montgomery is a man on an impossible mission and his guilt weighs heavily upon his soul. While passing through a village, he witnesses something that makes his stomach turn: a lass tied to a post who the villagers claim is a witch. One glance into her silver eyes and Malcolm is helpless to her plea for freedom. But once he rescues her, she won’t leave his side. She insists on helping him with his mission to free his brother. The more he’s around her, the lighter his heart feels. Has she cast a spell on him or is this what the poets call love? When her life is in peril, can he save her in time?

One Enchanted Scottish Knight is a romantic story filled with everything I love in a historical romance: a rugged Scottish knight, a sassy heroine with magical abilities, a quest of some kind, historical accuracy and plenty of action. Laura Strickland transport readers to Scotland in this tale and I loved every minute of it. She doesn’t shy away from the hatred many people of this time period had for those with special abilities and how a whisper can condemn anyone to death. I applaud her as it adds such emotional angst to the plot. Malcolm’s growth in this story is immense and it’s a clear message of how love can heal. The ending, oh my goodness, so unexpected!

If you’re looking for a Scottish historical romance to dive into, read One Enchanted Scottish Knight. Highly recommend, especially to Outlander fans.

Multi award-winning author Laura Strickland delights in time traveling to the past and searching out settings for her books, be they Historical Romance, Steampunk or something in between.
