Title: Beverly Hills King

Author: Claire Marti

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Opposites Attract

Book Blurb:

A shy CPA. A sophisticated Parisian. They say opposites attract…

Accountant Lucas Sutton is comfortable taking charge, as long as he’s behind a computer screen. So opening the final luxury hotel for the Hotel Kings on time, and on budget, is way out of his comfort zone. He can’t afford a single distraction. A distraction like his intriguing, beautiful concierge.

Brigitte Thibault flits around the globe, never finding a place to call home, until Beverly Hills starts to feel like something more. An innocent kiss with her strait-laced boss flames into white hot desire. Suddenly, they can’t stop thinking about each other. They’ve got nothing in common, except a tiny stubborn streak and a whole lot of chemistry.

The other Hotel Kings all found love on the job and they’re betting Lucas and Brigitte will, too. Can this pair prove that opposites really do attract, or will they let their differences divide them after all?

***Beverly Hills King is the sixth book in award-winning and USA Today bestselling author Claire Marti's spin off contemporary romance series, California Suits. The series follows the adventures of five best friends who are opening a string of luxury boutique hotels from La Jolla to Monterey to Beverly Hills as each one finds true love…usually where he least expects it. Each book is a standalone.

My Review:

Will Brigitte find what’s been eluding her in Beverly Hills or will she deny herself true happiness in the arms of Lucas, her boss? Beverly Hills King is the final book in this series and it’s my all-time favorite. The romantic chemistry is off the charts hot. The characters are realistic with heaps of emotion. The setting is Beverly Hills, California and Claire Marti puts readers in the heart of it all. Beverly Hills King is opposites attract romance that’s truly unforgettable.

Let’s start with the characters. Brigitte is the epitome of a Parisian woman. She’s confident in her appearance and the way she carries herself. She’s very smart and knows how to bring out the best in people. She smooths ruffled feathers yet does it without fanfare or artifice. On the outside she appears without flaw but inside, she has fears and insecurities. I connected with her from the start. Such a caring woman, I ached for her to find her HEA.

Lucas is a shy accountant who is willing to do anything to make this hotel a grand success. But he’s a fish out of water, and he needs help. His attraction to Brigitte is a distraction he can’t afford yet one kiss changes everything. While I love confident heroes, shy ones are my weakness. Lucas melted my heart. I kept rooting for him.

The rest of the characters are delightful to read. There are plenty of appearances of the previous couples from the series. Each character is well-written with their own personality. I hated to say good-bye.

The romance is opposites attract, but in classic Claire Marti style, she puts her own spin on it. The chemistry, yearning, and tension are exquisite to read. The emotions are roller coaster but with a satisfying ending.

If you’re looking to be swept away, pick up Beverly Hills King. It’s part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
