My Review:


Can an ordinary boy team up with his space friends to save his family? Danny is not your average ten-year-old boy. Sure, he doesn't have any powers, but he does get to travel through space with his parents. He feels stuck between two worlds, though, and doesn't feel like he fits in either place. Things take a wicked turn when the airship is attacked by an evil emperor. Worse for Danny is his parents are kidnapped. What can Danny do? It's time for Danny to rescue his parents but he needs help. So he contacts his friends across Earth and they hunt for the emperor's lair. As they travel through space and time, they battle robots, mobsters, and eerie warriors. But Danny won't rest until he saves his parents. Are you ready for the journey to begin?


Chase Across Time is a sci-fi adventure you won't want to miss out on reading. While this is geared toward middle-grade readers, teens and adults will love it too. I connected with Danny right away. He's a likable hero to who many readers will relate to. His character goes through a lot but overcomes it all. There are quite a few positive messages for readers to think about after reading. The plot moves at an excellent pace with plenty of characters to interact with, twists and turns you won't anticipate, plus descriptive narration to make the action scenes come alive while reading. As a sci-fi reader, I truly reveled in the space setting. It's got a very Star Trek: TNG vibe to it. I also loved the diversity woven throughout the story. This is the debut novel of this author, and you'd never know it by reading Chase Across Time. There's sophistication to the writing, plot progression, and characterizations. A brilliant sci-fi adventure for ages eight and up, Chase Across Time will keep you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to reading more from this author. Highly recommend!
