Title: Chocolate Caramel Dreams

Author: Roni Denholtz

Genre: Contemporary Romance Novella

Book Blurb:

As a teen, Damaris Mulligan had a huge crush on her history teacher, Greg Collins. Now she’s seeing him again at their 10th-year reunion. She quickly finds she’s attracted to the handsome and personable man who is now a college professor.

Greg is intrigued by the young woman who was once such a dedicated student. He asks her out for dinner, and they share teaching stories and their love of history.

But Damaris worries that he’s older and more sophisticated than her—and discovers he comes from a wealthy family. She’s afraid she can’t compare to women in his past, and she’s out of her league. The more time she spends with him, the more she realizes hers is not merely a schoolgirl crush—she’s falling in love.

Greg was hurt when a former girlfriend pretended she cared, when all she wanted was money and prestige. He’s hoping he can trust Damaris—but can he?

My Review:

A high school crush turns to sweet love at a reunion, but will wealth come between them? Back in high school, Damaris had a big crush on her history teacher, Greg Collins. Meeting him again at her ten-year reunion is like a breath of fresh air. They share a connection and start dating. Even though she’s an adult now, Damaris worries she’s not sophisticated enough and won’t measure up to the women of his past. When he reveals he comes from a wealthy family, she feels more uneasy. But her feelings won’t be quelled. Can she convince Greg she loves him for who he is, not his family’s money? Will Greg see the real her and not the student she used to be?

Chocolate Caramel Dreams is a wonderful reunion romance I read in one sitting. It’s an unusual romance between a former teacher and a student. They’re both adults now and the age difference is not so great… or is it? I enjoyed this unique romance. The plot moves at a great pace and the characters are very likable. I connected with Damaris and her plight. It’s not easy to be the younger woman, especially when there is money involved. The romance blooms between these two and I loved watching it unfold. Sure, they have issues to work through, but Roni Denholtz shows how important it is to talk through misunderstandings and feelings before it blows up. The ending made my heart soar. If you’re a romance reader, you’ll love Chocolate Caramel Dreams. If you’re looking for a wonderful reunion romance with a twist, pick up Chocolate Caramel Dreams. Another gem from the One Scoop or Two series, perfect to read any time of the year. Highly recommend!
