Darker by AK Nevermore is a Shake Off Winter Doldrums pick #paranormalMCErotica #paranormalMC #giveaway

Title: Darker

Author: AK Nevermore

Genre: Paranormal MC Erotica

Book Blurb:

So much for sanctuary. Kit Parson doesn’t feel any safer than she was before she first stepped into the Maw of Mayhem, and things are going from bad to worse. Something big is definitely going down in the paranormal community… and inside Kit. Now that her inner beast has awoken, all it wants is out. The only thing Kit wants is Grim, but he’s got issues of his own.

Fingered for a crime he didn’t commit and injured by the witch’s spell, his cat Darke has control of their form. He doesn’t play well with others, and tensions with the crew are at an all-time high.

With the witches’ elite assassins on their trail, can Darke and the crew put aside their differences to keep Kit safe and get back to the MC? And as the clock ticks toward the vote with Grim’s reputation in shambles, will there be an MC to go back to?

Excerpt:

Darke stalked from the hallway, scowling, his shoulders bunched.

The tension in the room skyrocketed, everyone at the table going stock-still, eyes following the massive cat’s every move. The tap of his claws against the tiny tiles was way louder than it should’ve been. He glowered at the crew; the light from the wall sconces throwing his facial markings into relief, the suggestion of a skull now stark.

-- Dayum that boy just gets finer… --

They’re terrified of him. Kit swallowed the abrupt lump in her throat, totally forgetting she wasn’t on speaking terms with her cat. Wrench, Deuce, Stitch… even Doc; they were all Grim’s friends. His crew. Why would they be afraid of his cat?

-- Mmm. It sounds like our boy’s got anger issues and is seriously jacked. –

What do you mean?

-- Mountain lions aren’t supposed to be that big, and I can hear them. The crew’s cats. They’ve all gotten into it with Darke…-- Kat paused like she was listening. -- They’re worried he’s gone feral again. –

Grim had said something about that. How his cat had taken over and wouldn’t let him shift back to two legs. Is that what happened?

Kit winced at the distant hiss of static in her head and things clicked. That had to be Kat talking to Darke, and whatever she was saying, he wasn’t a fan. The big mountain lion growled low in his throat, and the crew tensed up. Brick’s hand edged toward his gun.

Holy shit.

What’s your favorite activity to shake off the winter doldrums?

I write, which is escapism at its finest. Outside might be crappy and cold, but inside my head—okay, yeah that’s usually crappy and cold too, BUT a lot more cool things happen!

Why is your featured book a cure for the winter blues?

Darker, and the rest of the books in the Maw of Mayhem MC series, are a great cure for the winter blues because they’re fast-paced, full of adventure, snark, and intrigue. They’re fun books with a side of smut. What else could you possibly want? I mean, beside nachos, but you’re on your own for that.

Author Biography:

AK Nevermore enjoys operating heavy machinery, freebases coffee, and gives up sarcasm for Lent every year. A Jane-of-all-trades, she’s a certified chef, restores antiques, and dabbles in beekeeping when she’s not reading voraciously or running down the dream in her beat-up camo Chucks.

Unable to ignore the voices in her head, and unwilling to become medicated, she writes Science Fiction and Fantasy full time.

AK pays the bills writing a copious amount of copy, along with a column on SFF. She belongs to the Authors Guild, is an RWA chapter board member, volunteers for far too many committees, teaches creative writing, and on the rare occasion, sleeps.
