Title: Devil’s in the Details
Author: M.J. Schiller
Genre: Contemporary Romance, Irish Romance
Book Blurb:
Callahan Murphey isn’t as good with women as his father is.
He has the gift of gab. I have the gift of calculus, and there’s only so far that’ll get you with women. And when Shona’s around? I become a complete blathering idiot. I’m hopeless.
Shona McDermott has gotten herself into a bit of trouble.
The kind of trouble that has me swearing off men. No matter how badly I want to break that rule for Cal.
But when Shona gets into hot water, only someone who is a devil for details will be able to get her out.
When love makes them both fools, is there any way for them to redeem themselves?
My Review:
Cal and Shona may have grown up in the same Irish town, but they lived very different lives. Seeing Shona again fills Cal with joy. He knows she’s had a difficult life, especially when he witnesses her alcoholic father. Cal knows calculus but can he solve the formula to unlock Shona’s heart?
Devil’s in the Details is a wonderfully refreshing romance. M.J. Schiller takes us on a journey to explore life and love of the downtrodden and college-aged Irish adults. No super rich or famous here…just regular folks trying to figure out life. I found the narration immersive, descriptive, and emotional. The characters are easy to relate to and realistic. This romance is simply unputdownable.
M.J. Schiller has penned a romance that’s remarkable in its simplicity. It has a James Joyce vibe that surprised me. My heart went out to both Cal and Shona. M.J. Schiller writes for the everyday reader about commonplace people.
If you love reading romance with an Irish feel, characters living messy lives, and a happy for now ending, you’ve got to read Devil’s in the Details.

Author Biography:
M.J. Schiller is a retired lunch lady/romance-romantic suspense writer. She enjoys writing novels whose characters include rock stars, desert princes, teachers, futuristic Knights, construction workers, cops, and a wide variety of others. In her mind everybody has a romance. She is the mother of a twenty-eight-year-old and three twenty-six-year-olds. That's right, triplets! So having recently taught four children to drive, she likes to escape from life on occasion by pretending to be a rock star at karaoke. However…you won’t be seeing her name on any record labels soon.
