Story Impressions –

Discovery of the Five Senses is an outstanding young adult superhero fantasy adventure I couldn’t put down. It truly is an edge-of-your-seat adventure I couldn’t stop reading. The plot moves at a quick pace with a fair share of action scenes to whet the appetite of any reader. The world-building is second to none, meaning it pulls the reader in and doesn’t let go until the last page. K.N. Smith is a gifted writer whose imagination oozes from every page. The descriptive narration is intricate with just the right amount of detail without overloading the reader’s senses. The five main characters, though, are what make this an unputdownable read. I connected with each character in a different way and was heavily invested in their journey. I’ve not read many fantasy books that surprise me but this one did. An original superhero fantasy to be savored.


Narrator’s overall voice – Glenn Steinbaum’s voice has an individuality all its own but when it employs the various character voices, it takes on each character with ease. I thoroughly adored his voice. Does the narrator fit the characters? Yes, Glenn Steinbaum fits the characters with a youthful tone. I’m astonished at how well he evokes teens. It’s not an easy thing to do. Great job. Narrator’s reading style – Glenn Steinbaum has an informal reading style but with enough twists and turns to keep the listener mesmerized. Narrator’s impact on reading experience – Glenn Steinbaum has an inherent ability to draw a listener/reader in without any effort. He takes what is one of the most creative stories I’ve ever read and creates a masterpiece. The scenes are so well narrated, I had to stop what I was doing to concentrate on the story. Narrator’s pacing – Glenn Steinbaum’s pacing is impeccable, blending fantasy, superpowers, suspense, and more with no difficulty. Audiobook flow – Glenn Steinbaum lets the audiobook unfold naturally with plenty of dialogue, action, and intrigue. What makes this audiobook unique – Glenn Steinbaum and K.N. Smith partner up to bring readers/listeners one of the best YA urban fantasy audiobooks I’ve ever heard/read. The plot is full of suspense which adds to the enjoyment while listening. Glenn Steinbaum’s narration brings Discovery of the Five Senses to life, like a show. Brilliant from start to finish. Would I recommend this audiobook – YES! Don’t delay.
