Jexter Bladebrace finds himself stranded on an island. The spaceship Spectrovor arrives to help the Earthlings. Joining one hundred survivors on the island where Spectrovor lands, Jexter, Shelly and Mac try to prevent their island from sinking into the ocean.

The Spectropeans from Spectrovor suggest an alliance with the Earthlings, whereby they will save them by turning them into humphibians, a life form which can survive on land as well as in water. The humphibians take refuge in a sunken ship and learn to live on the demolished planet Earth, exploring and finding new places.

But when they find another planet, a reflection of the Earth, their lives take a drastic turn.

Can Jexter, Shelly and Mac salvage the future of the Earthlings?


My Review:


This is one of the best YA books I have ever read. The book is so wonderfully written, it is a true pleasure to read. The story flows in such a smooth fashion that the reader is carried along like a twig on a river.


Each chapter is creatively titled and allows the reader to know exactly what to expect in that chapter. Would that was the approach to many other titles, it would make reading much more pleasurable.


The lead character is so approachable and likable, the reader is captivated right away. The story is thoughtful but not so complicated as to be hard to follow. Action and adventure are throughout this beauty of a book. There is just a hint of romance and a touch of intrigue. The adventure is just purely enjoyable.


Far and away one of the finest books of 2022. If I had the only vote, this would be in a book of the year category. Brilliantly written. Fans of graphic novels will love this book. Fans of simply fun adventures will love this book. If you want to enjoy reading a book again, buy this book. A brilliant book that needs to be a template for all YA writers in the world.
