My Review:
Sifa is a hunted woman, hiding her true identity. Fhord is wickedly handsome, even if he is a dragon rider. Sifa is drawn to him, yet she doesn’t understand why. Together, they risk life and limb on a dangerous mission. Can they resist the temptation of forbidden love or will one of them have to forfeit their life for the other?
Sacred Struggle is a dark romantasy with forbidden love, high stakes, and thrilling action scenes. After I finished reading, all I could say to myself for several minutes was, “Wow.” Rochelle L. Wilcox has written one of the best dark romantasy novels I’ve ever read. The plot moves at a quick pace. The dual POVs allow the reader a deep dive into the minds of both Sifa and Fhord. The emotional tension and stakes are dramatic and will give readers an epic book hangover.
The characters are reason enough to drop what you’re doing and read Sacred Struggle. Sifa is our dark heroine with impressive knife skills. She knows how to protect herself and those she cares about. She’s also tormented by her past, and with good reason.
Fhord broke my heart over and over again. Imagine knowing your fated mate but realizing if you act upon the forbidden love, you will sacrifice too much. He tries to stay away from her but it’s an inner war he’s losing.

Author Biography:
Rochelle Wilcox writes stories about love and angst and human drama, which happen to include some elves and dragons and gods.
Rochelle was born and raised in Las Vegas, where she learned at an early age the value of fantasy and escape. Raised by a single mom, Rochelle spent more time in casinos than most adults. She and her husband decided to leave the desert behind and raise their sons in Northern California, where they spent as much time on the water with their boys as they could.
Despite her lifelong passion for storytelling, Rochelle’s path took her to law school and then to a practice focused on media law and appeals. But her love of writing wasn’t sated with briefs bound by legal principles and a fealty to facts. And so she set to paper the story that had been playing in her mind for years, based on the Norse mythology she loved as a child. Rochelle retired from her legal practice in 2022 to travel and write.
