My Review:

 

Kendall swears she’s hexed when it comes to weddings, but one small town and a rescue dog may have the answer she’s looking for. Staging Christmas is a delightful holiday rom com I couldn’t put down. The small town of Dickens will enchant you. The descriptive narration will put you in the festive mood. The characters, including the furry one, will steal your heart.

 

Let’s start with the characters. Kendall is a ball of contradictions. She has trouble refereeing between her head and her heart. She’s smart, funny, and has had her heart broke. She’s relatable to all women and she drives this plot. Jamie is in deep trouble. He’s trying to restore a dilapidated ski lodge and he’s in over his head. Working with Kendall is torture, but can he convince her it’s love? Then there is Georgie, the adorable rescue dog. Talk about a scene stealer. Georgie is sweet, lovable and brings pure emotion to this story. All the characters are delightful and well-written.

 

The romance is paced well. Kathryn Hills writes realistic romance. You’ll fall in love right along with Kendall and Jamie. There are plenty of swoony moments along with funny dialogue.

 

In need of a romance to get you in the festive mood? Staging Christmas will certainly do that and more. So grab a mug of eggnog or hot cocoa and dive in.
