5 stars for The Battle For Verdana: The Talisman Series Vol. 4 by Brett Salter #yafantasy #dragons

Title: The Battle For Verdana: The Talisman Series Vol. 4

Author: Brett Salter

Genre: YA Fantasy, YA Dragon Adventure

Book Blurb:

What’s REALLY hiding in the forests of the Pacific Northwest? Could it be The Tyrant King’s army of Darkbrands? Could it be more of Mr. Jones’s liaisons? Or could it be the solution to the problem vexing our favorite heroes? Whatever mystery it is, you can guarantee the boys from Georgia are sure to find themselves deep in the thick of it.

My Review:

The battle has just begun for four young dragons as they search for a talisman in the Pacific Northwest. Rome, Julian, Jericho, and Clay travel to the west coast. Why? They are told deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest lies a powerful talisman reputed to be used by none other than King Arthur. The more they search, the more their enemies chase them. The trouble is they don't who is who and which of them might be under the influence of a Nocturn. Bickering amongst themselves won't help but one thing is for sure: they'll need this talisman to defeat their enemies and ascend. The battle for Verdana is upon them and they'll have to band together if they want to soar to the Great Synergy.

The Battle for Verdana is a fantasy dragon adventure perfect for readers who love young adult dragon adventures. The four main characters are back in an adventure filled with twists and turns I didn't expect. Brett Salter is a talented fantasy writer who writes an intricate plot with complexities I haven't seen in a long time. The characters are relatable even though they are dragons. The teenage angst is there, especially between Julian and his father. The action scenes, especially the final battle, are incredibly detailed and draw the reader in. The world-building is impressive, and I got caught up in the world Brett Salter created. My favorite characters are the forest dragons. There are some hidden messages about diversity, friendship, and battling evil which I thought were well done. If you're a fantasy reader with a penchant for dragons, you'll want to read The Battle for Verdana. If you love dragon adventure, you'll adore The Battle for Verdana. I can't wait to read the next installment in this series.

Author Biography:

Proud Father, Lucky Husband, Friend, Jokester, Music Lover, Sports Fanatic, Pizza Eater, Anime Viewer, and...Oh! Author of Dragon Books!

My background in writing stems mostly from the inspiration I found as a kid when I read Fantasy and Sci-Fi books. These include The Chronicles of Narnia, The Xanth Novels, The Time Quintet, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and everything from Shakespeare to Dr. Seuss. In my formative years, I joined several punk rock bands and wrote songs, poetry, and short stories aplenty. As an adult (?) I took on a dare and wrote the first book in my Talisman Series. I loved the feeling it gave me and the idea of inspiring others so much that I kept writing until I had an entire series.

I am currently working to finish The Talisman Series. I have self-published 4 of the books which can be found on At this very moment, I am on book 11 of the 12 I have planned. I also have plans for a second series which will take influence from the portal fiction genre about a girl and 6 others that travel to another dimension to fulfill a destiny by saving a planet from cruel overseers.
