Title: The Captain Claims His Temptress

Author: Nicki Pascarella

Genre: Regency Romance, Historical Romance

Book Blurb:

Widowed American heiress, Madalene Spencer leaves behind her scandalous reputation to embrace the lavish life of British society. Love hits hard the second she meets the handsome war hero spending a week at her uncle’s estate. However, she is forbidden to go near the captain unless she agrees to spy on him.

Captain Stephen Eaton always chooses duty over pleasure until he spends a sennight with a seductive beauty. How in deuces can he concentrate on his mission, or the nefarious plot against him, when she tempts him at every turn?

When Stephen and Madalene embark on a cross-country trip, they must fight both their scorching chemistry and their enemies to clear the captain’s name and save him from the gallows.

My Review:

Will Captain Stephen resist the allure of his temptress, or will he be run through? The Captain Claims His Temptress is a riveting Regency romance featuring a war hero working for the Crown and an unorthodox American heiress. The sizzling attraction leads to so much more. There’s plenty of intrigue, quick-wit, a luscious setting, and romance with oodles of steam. Readers of Caroline Lee and Cerise DeLand will love this book.

Let’s start with the characters. Madalene is a rich young widow who dealt with some scandal in America. She’s returned to England to start fresh. When she first lays eyes on Captain Stephen, it’s lust at first sight. She can’t help herself and her actions draw the ire of her uncle. Can she tempt Stephen to fall for her?

I really loved this heroine. She’s a passionate woman who deserves an equally stimulating man. She’s emotional yet knows how to play society’s games. A modern woman set in Regency times.

The plot moves at a good pace with a full cast of characters. Some are new, some are featured in the previous two books. The descriptive narration plunges the reader into the story. The romance is steamy with bedroom scenes that’ll singe your fingertips.

I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. Binge-read this book and the previous two in the series.
