Title: The Rebound Effect
Author: Linda Griffin
Voice Actor/Narrator: Catherine Hein Carter
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Book Blurb:
In the small town of Cougar, struggling single mother and veterinary assistant Teresa Lansing is still bruised from a failed relationship when Frank McAllister sweeps her off her feet. Frank is a big-city SWAT officer who moved to Cougar only four months ago. He's handsome, charming, forceful, very sexy, and a bit mysterious. He had his eye on Teresa even before they met and is pushing for a serious relationship right away. Teresa finds his intense courtship flattering, and the sex is fabulous, but she doesn't want her deaf six-year-old son to be hurt again. Her former fiancé cheated on her when he got drunk after being unjustly fired, but he loves her and her son, and the whirlwind romance is complicated by his efforts to win Teresa back. And then there's the matter of the bodies buried at Big Devil Creek…

Do you listen to audiobooks? Do you have a favorite? If you don’t listen to audiobooks, is there a particular reason why not?
I’d listened to only a few audiobooks before producing my own. I did like Jaycee Dugard’s narration of her memoir A Stolen Life. It was chilling to hear her matter-of-factly describe her life in captivity in her own voice. I read an article that explained why print books are the most efficient format for learning and remembering what you’ve read, but for me it’s just a matter of personal preference. I like physical books, preferably hard cover. I like to be read to when I wash the dishes, though, and sometimes an audiobook fills that need.
What makes this a must-listen audiobook?
I loved the way Catherine immersed herself in this story, identifying herself with the heroine and conveying real emotions. Audio Book Reviewer says, “Catherine Hein Carter delivers a captivating performance, using deliberate pauses and emotional delivery to maintain suspense and keep the listener engaged from start to finish…This spine-tingling book keeps the listener fully engaged and immersed.”

Author Biography:
I knew I wanted to be a “book maker” as soon as I learned to read and wrote my first story at the age of six. My passion for the printed word also led me to a career with the San Diego Public Library. I retired to spend more time on my writing and have had stories published in numerous literary journals. I have had ten books published by The Wild Rose Press and seven of them produced as audio books so far. In addition to the three R’s—reading, writing, and research—I enjoy travel, movies, Scrabble, and visiting museums and art galleries.
Narrator Biography:
