My Review:

Can Lord George Spenser claim Miss Lydia as his bride in spite of the Ton's rules or will he forsake the woman he loves? When I picked up Winning the Wallflower, I knew I was in for an entertaining read. Debra Elizabeth writes Regency romance effortlessly, blending historical world-building, sweet romance, and characters you’ll fall in love with. Winning the Wallflower is a historical romance worth reading.

Let's start with the descriptive narration. Debra Elizabeth uses words to seduce and attract the most discerning romance reader. Her imagery through narration is lush. Every scene is poignantly described down to the smallest detail plus it is historically accurate. I hadn’t read more than the first thirty pages before I connected with the characters and plot. Debra Elizabeth works hard so her romances are historically accurate which only increases my reading experience.

The world-building meshes with the descriptive narration to create a story that’s believable and immersive. The rules of Regency society are fascinating to read. Fans of Downton Abbey will love this historical romance.

The characters are delightful to read. They are what make Winning the Wallflower an unforgettable Regency romance. Lydia is a wonderfully written heroine with insecurities and flaws. The romance between Lydia and George had me whipping through the pages. Will they or won’t they add the right amount of tension to this sweet romance.

If you love Regency romance as much as I do, then you need to read Winning the Wallflower. Even though this is part of a series, you can read it on its own as a standalone.
