Looking for exquisitely written erotica to spend the afternoon/evening with? Look no further than Tales of the Golden Mask: An Initiate’s Tale. In an imaginary fantasy world complete with fae, gypsies, princes, courtesans and magic, seduction is an art, leading to more than just sex. Broken down into four sections, Tales of the Golden Mask: An Initiate’s Tale tells the story of one initiate’s journey in the world of pleasure.

Prologue – We meet Seraphina as she rediscovers the stories inside the Book of Entertainments. It offers the reader a little background into the world they’re about to dive into.

A Chance Meeting – We meet Celestine, the Stargazer. Being a part of a caravan of dancers, she tells fortunes and remains innocent (or as innocent as one can be among older and sexually active young women). One day, two princes approach the caravan looking for a sexual adventure. Celestine captures the attention of one of the princes. He likes her so much he pays off the Caravan Master so Celestine can be his and his alone.

The Painted Lady – The Painted Lady is an establishment of pleasure and that is where Celestine is taken. The King hands her over to Tatia to be trained for one month in the ways of pleasure. Her training is not hands-on but by observing sexual acts between the women of The Painted Lady and the two princes. She learns much and when she’s finally ready, they head off to the High City.

The High City – Celestine is amazed by the great city and her role in it. There are a lot of traditions she must learn quickly, as well as what her station is. The two princes deal with politics and duty before they can find release.

Epilogue – We’re back with Seraphina and the Book of Entertainments for a lovely conclusion.

Woven in beautiful language meant to tease, titillate and arouse, Tales of the Golden Mask is simply wonderful. A short lover’s tryst, it stimulates and sizzles. It’s more than just sex, it’s a lesson in seduction with undertones of fantasy. A must read and I can’t wait to read the next installment.
