My Review:


If you have ever experienced a he said/she said, this book will ring true with you. The unique use of POV basically gives you the book from Julia's eyes and then from Alex's eyes with even the same scene seen from two different perspectives. This approach is oft seen in military history not usually in romantic thrillers.

Those seeking traditional romance will not find it here. There is obsession, physical desire, and disdain but not really in a romantic way. The best example would be that Julia approaches romance the way an immature grade seven teenaged girl does. Or perhaps how a Kardashian does? If you are a fan of either true crime stories or real housewives or The Kardy clan… this book is for you.

This is a thriller unlike any other thriller I have read and I have read hundreds of them. The author can be commended for taking an approach never seen in the annals of the thriller genre before. In some ways, the thriller part doesn't even make an appearance until well past the halfway point in the book.

The ending left me scratching my head. I could not engender any sympathy for Julia at all so whatever happens to her is more of a 'careful what you wish for' theme. What happens to Alex, well, I don't have a clue. The author really leaves it to the reader to figure out what happens. I honestly am not sure. If you want a very original approach to a thriller that is pretty much sans romance, read this book.
