Book Blurb:

Valroy

I refuse to let the emperor marry off my 16-year-old sister to a 40-year-old creep. I figure my money will protect me. Boy, am I wrong. In retribution for my defiance, the emperor tosses me outside the protective dome to die in the harsh frozen world of the Collapse. But I never expected a gorgeous vampire goddess to rescue me.

Evelina

I’m not looking for passion or anything like it when I discover the shirtless New Rome lord chained to a reclamation bin. He stands defiantly before me, refusing to let me free him. But if I leave him alone in this frozen wasteland Minnesota’s become—or if I let the other vampires have him—he’ll be dead by morning. And his rock-hard abs are too delicious to resist. But no way am I falling for him. Because I’m done with love.

My Review:

Valroy defies the New Rome emperor in order to save his sister and winds up outside the protective dome, doomed to death. Vampire goddess Evelina saves him, and their future is entwined together. Can Valroy fall in love with a vampire goddess or will he walk away?

Saved by the Vampire Goddess is a dystopian paranormal romance I couldn’t put down. The world-building is expansive and will suck you right in. The descriptive narration allows the reader to fully visualize everything that is going on. The dystopian vibe creates just the right amount of emotional tension. The romance is a variety of tropes, and the stakes couldn’t be higher for our hero and heroine. But it’s the characters that make this an unputdownable read.

The main characters in Saved by the Vampire Goddess are so relatable, you’ll find bits of yourself in Valroy and Evelina. Sure, Valroy is a lord living in a dystopian dome but his curiosity and will to survive had me reading late into the night.

Evelina is one of the most unusual vampires I’ve ever read. She’s an understanding goddess who’s open, honest, and has a zest for life. She has dreams, things she wants to do, that is until love sweeps her off her feet. What will she do? I connected with her most of all.

What makes Saved by the Vampire Goddess such an incredible read is the world-building. Jenna Barwin creates not one but two distinctive worlds. Her attention to detail is flawless. She writes in such a way as to make both worlds realistic and believable.

The romance is slow-burn while also making my heart race. This is so much more than just a vampire romance. I got swept up in the romance, just like the characters.

If you love paranormal romance with a dystopian slant, you have to read Saved by the Vampire Goddess. I look forward to reading more from Jenna Barwin.
