Title: Cherry Blossom Serendipity

Author: Zelda Benjamin

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Book Blurb:

A chance meeting lands dating columnist Lexi Anderson an invitation to the most sought-after D.C. event. Seeking inspiration for her spring column, she agrees to accompany an older gentleman she met at the Vietnam Memorial.

Everyone lets go at the Pink Tie Dinner. Navy Commander Steve MacDonald is no exception. He’s attracted to Lexi and disappointed she’s returning to New York in the morning. He makes a plan guaranteeing he’ll see her during New York’s Fleet Week.

Lexi has shared with her readers that she never gets involved with a man in uniform. When the magic of the evening disappears, will Lexi hold tight to her dating rule?

My Review:

A dating columnist with a strict no dating men in uniform policy collides with love when she meets a handsome navy commander. Can love blossom or will they part ways?

I love a romance where love comes without warning. In Cherry Blossom Serendipity, you have Lexi who falls for a navy man and falls hard. This romance has it all: a couple who is perfect for each other, a dance to attend, separation, conflict, Fleet Week, and romance. There’s also plenty of emotion and descriptive narration. Nothing sweeter than spring romance…

Let’s start with the characters. I connected with Lexi right away. She’s got good reasons to not date military men. I had the same dating policy when I was in my twenties. Needless to say, the ending is emotional. I’ll never look at Fleet Week the same. Steve is also a character worth cheering for. He’s such a wonderful, caring man and one I also connected with.

The romance is expertly executed with a rom com military vibe. This is my first contemporary romance by this author, and I enjoyed it immensely. I especially like the interplay between Lexi and Steve. Their chemistry is off the charts.

If you’re looking for a beach read/spring/summer romance, you’ll love Cherry Blossom Serendipity. If you’re a part of the military romance community, this book is for you.

My Rating: 5 stars
