But the trail has more twists and turns than a rollercoaster and nothing turns out the way Holly thinks it will as she takes on a ruthless killer hellbent on revenge.
My Review:
Nothing says Hanukkah like a giant dreidel and a murder for Holly to solve. Everyone is in attendance to celebrate Hanukkah and to honor Rapido Swimwear CEO Leni Waxman. After an impassioned speech, Leni collapses and dies. The suspects are vast with enough motive to sink Holly’s houseboat, Holly included. The more Holly investigates, someone tries to stop her. Her car and rental car are both tampered with, not to mention being run off the road. But that only makes Holly more determined. Can Holly unmask the killer, or will she wind up six feet under?
Death By Dreidel is a twisty cozy mystery with a holiday vibe. You’ll be laughing right along with Holly and the Yentas as they ring in Hanukkah. The plot is full of twists and turns, a long list of suspects, and humorous dialogue. Susie Black layers in Hanukkah traditions and Jewish humor which takes this cozy mystery from fantastic to phenomenal. Once I started reading Death by Dreidel, I couldn’t put it down.
Susie Black has penned her best-written book to date. Her ability to draw in a reader and keep their attention over the course of the book is unmatched. Her style of humor will have you laughing out loud while investigating the murder. For this reason and a million more makes Death by Dreidel an unputdownable read.
