My Review:

Summary –

Tom and Alice make this book shine. The focus on the 1954 plane made this reader think of the Avro Aero and that is what drew me into this book. That aspect of the book is well done. The role that Alice has in the development of the plane is impressive and well presented. Just in Time will appeal to a reader who wants to be on the edge of their seat for hours on end. The book simply draws the reader in and will keep you invested to the very end. Fans of great espionage films and books will love this book. Fans of historical plane development will love this book. Note: this is not a standalone. You need to read book one to truly understand what is going on.

Narrator’s overall voice –

Becky Boyd has a terrific range and offers different inflections for each character. I appreciated the excitement in her voice when it came to parts of the plot. It amped up my enjoyment of the story.

Does the narrator fit the characters?

Yes, Becky Boyd accurately portrays the characters, even when it is a tad confusing which one is speaking.

Narrator’s reading style –

Becky Boyd’s reading style is smooth with theatrical inflections. While listening, it reminds me of the old radio programs of the 1940s.

Narrator’s impact on reading experience –

While there were times when I got lost or didn’t know what was going on, Becky Boyd brings the reader up to speed with colorful characters, dialogue, and accents.

Narrator’s pacing –

Becky Boyd’s pacing is excellent and of the highest quality. She slows down when needed and speeds up during an action scene. She never stumbles over words and is 100% professional. It felt like a theatrical reading.

Audiobook flow –

The audiobook flows well, even when the plot does not. This I attribute to Becky and her voice.

What makes this audiobook unique –

This is not a standalone. You need to have read/listened to book one (Out of Time) to know what is going on and the subtleties of the plot. I’m glad I read book one, so I understand what is going on.

Would I recommend this audiobook –

Yes, I would recommend this book, especially to fans of historical fiction and romantic adventure.
