Title: Love Don’t Wait (The Agency Book 2)

Author: C.C. Bolick

Genre: YA Paranormal/Superhero

Book Blurb:

For Angel Lockhart, forever is really forever...

After learning the truth about her parents, Angel fears being locked away in an underground room of the agency. She's been selfish in her relationship with Skip, but now only her powers can keep him alive. The agency wants to use these powers to save innocent lives. Angel can't help but wish for her old life back.

When she visits an old friend, her view of the agency begins to change. Maybe becoming an agent is the best plan if her powers can take down the agency's deadliest threats.

Life is tough at seventeen, but working for a secret government agency? Angel might even learn what love really means... if she doesn't run out of time.

My Review:

Living forever is not all that it appears, and Angel Lockhart isn't sure she can make it through today, let alone the next week or month. Her greatest fear is being locked away in one of the rooms at the underground government agency, Earth Under Fire. The agency wants Angel to use her powers for their purposes but she's unsure if she wants to be an agent. Her boyfriend, Skip, seems like a natural as an agent but he still needs her to survive. She has secrets to conceal but so does her best friend. Angel will soon learn everyone is keeping secrets and there's someone she trusts she shouldn't. Deception and betrayal swarm Angel and if she and Skip are going to survive, she must embrace her vampiric self. If she can't learn to control her gift, everyone she loves will die.

Love, Don't Wait is a compelling YA paranormal I couldn't put down. From the first page, I journeyed with Angel as she comes to grips with who she is and what she can become. The emotional angst, so well-written, drove the plot. Normally, I don't care for single POV but in this case, it's necessary to connect with Angel. The world-building, especially when it comes to vampire gifts and abilities is incredible. Kudos to C.C. Bolick for adding a new dimension to vampire lore. The plot moves at a fast pace which I enjoyed. The ending was superb. I can't wait to read more in the series and more from C. C. Bolick. Highly recommend!

Author Biography:

C.C. Bolick grew up in south Alabama, where she’s happy to still reside. She’s an engineer by day and a writer by night—too bad she could never do one without the other.

Camping, fishing… she loves the outdoors and the warm Alabama weather. For years she thought up stories to write and finally started putting them on paperback in 2006. If you hear her talking with no one to answer, don’t think she’s crazy. Since talking through her stories works best, a library is her worst place to write… even though it’s her favorite!

C.C. loves to mix sci-fi and paranormal—throw in a little romance and adventure and you’ve got her kind of story. She’s written a dozen books including the Leftover Girl series, The Agency series, and The Fear Chronicles.
